We're never coming home! (just kidding)

Views from our early morning kayak trip on the Bow River. We still haven't seen a bear!

A coyote looking for a ground squirrel for a meal.

This is a ground squirrel we named Fred (or maybe Wilma?). He/She was the greeter to our campsite and has a family of babies that we see everytime we walk to the washrooms. Don't worry, Mom. We didn't kayak in this part of the river.

These are pictures of a grand railroad historical hotel in Banff. We walked to it along the river. Very upscale and beautiful.

It is Monday, June 22 (?) in Banff, Alberta. Many of the weekend tourists have gone home. We are in the Public Library to get a wireless signal. We just finished lunch in the park after a 3 hour kayak trip. It's been a bit chilly, so we are glad to be in a warm spot. We attended church yesterday at Banff Presyberian. It was a small cottage church with visitors from around the world (London, Sweden, Holland, and Harrisonburg, VA). There were 2 Korean musicians here for a Fine Arts Festival at the Banff Center. They played the piano and violin, including "It is Well with my Soul" and "How Great Thou Art".

The sun doesn't set until 10:30 pm and then rises again aroun 5AM. It's been interesting to adjust to so much daylight, but we try to pack it all in.
I love cooking outdoors. Last night I made chili for the crockpot. It was great to have dinner ready when we got back to the camp. I'm going to try to grill a vegetable pizza and make a stew this week.
